    Day 1 - Reykjavik

    Welcome to Reykjavik where you embark Scenic Eclipse to start your discovery of the world’s largest island – Greenland.

     

    Meals Included: Dinner

     

    Day 2 - Dynjandi (Fjallfoss)

    Weather depending, today we visit the jewel of the Westfjords. Stand back and admire the cascading bridal veil, and discover why it was nicknamed ‘the thunder’. Made up of seven waterfalls, it is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland.

     

    Discovery: With a flexible itinerary and depending on the conditions, take Discovery excursions by kayak or onshore for landings.

    Day 3 - At sea

    Cruise from Iceland across the Denmark Strait to the east coast of Greenland. The Discovery Team will enthral you with their knowledge and passion for this region. From your suite's verandah look for whales.

    Day 4 - East Coast Fjords

    Over the coming days explore Greenland's east coast, the fjords of Skjoldungen and Prins Christian Sund. Carving a breathtaking, naturally-formed path separating the mainland from the islands of Cape Farewell, Prins Christian Sund is one of Greenland's most scenic waterways. 105 kilometres in length, and flanked by magnificent glaciers and granite cliffs, this narrow passage is only accessible during the summer, when the largest ice blockades melt away. Scenic Eclipse brings you close to the glaciers, huge icebergs and imposing peaks for unmissable photo opportunities.

     

    Discovery: Take Discovery excursions by Zodiac to view ice formations, paddle the kayaks to hear the ice cracking or step onshore for landings.

    Day 5 - East Coast Fjords

    Continue to explore the East Coast Fjords of Skjoldungen and Prins Christian Sund.

    Day 6 - East Coast Fjords

    Continue to explore the East Coast Fjords of Skjoldungen and Prins Christian Sund.

    Day 7 - Narsaq

    An agricultural town on the edge of a fjord, Narsaq is known for its Greenlandic 'cowboys', farms and interesting Norse history. Discover this quaint town and visit the Museum to learn about the Norse history

     

    Freechoice -

    Walk around the town or Narsaq, and see the mixture of modern living and ancient traditions, or taste some Greenlandic specialties at the Hotel Narsaq. 

     

    Discovery -

    Take a Discovery excursion by Zodiac or kayak or take a hiking tour.

    Day 8 - Nuuk

    Nuuk means ‘majestic fjord views’ in Greenlandic. The capital and largest city in Greenland, Nuuk has been inhabited by many settlers over the centuries but the present town was only established in 1728. A guided tour through the picturesque Old Harbour reveals history and traditions that still remain strong.

     

    Freechoice -

     Marvel at the mummies in the Greenland National Museum, or try the local Greenlandic beer at Greenland’s largest microbrewery. Alternatively, learn about Inuit culture at the Nuuk Art Museum.

    Day 9 - Evighed Fjord

    Meander through the Evighed Fjord or “Eternity Fjord”, listening as chunks from the ice cap break away and collapse into the water. Gaze up at the highest mountains in West Greenland, watching as the mist swirls around them.

    Day 10 - Ilulissat (Disko Bay)

    Spectacular days await as you cruise Disko Bay. Ilulissat is named from the Inuit word for ‘iceberg’. Formerly called Jakobshavn, the town is best known for large number of icebergs breaking away from the nearby Ilulissat Icefjord, into which one of the world’s fastest moving and most active glaciers calves 46 cubic kilometres of ice annually. Listen for the rumbling sounds in the distance of icebergs calving from the Sermeq Kujalleq Glacier.

    Day 11 - At Sea > Cruising Kangerlussuaq Fjord

    Enjoy your last day relaxing on Scenic Eclipse. With so many choices on board you will be surprised how quickly time passes. Choose one of the daily activities, an entertaining discussion in the theatre, or make time for yourself in the Senses Spa. This evening, cruise through the Kangerlussuaq Fjord, the longest fjord in Greenland. Keep a look out for herds of musk oxen, reindeer, as well as arctic hares and polar foxes.r

    Day 12 - Kangerlussuaq > Copenhagen

    Your cruise ends this morning in Kangerlussuaq as you bid farewell to the crew and fly to Copenhagen.



    Please book your flight to depart after 8pm. A post tour night or city stay is advisable to ensure you meet onward flight. Your included ontour flight will not be finalised until closer to departure.
