    Day 5-10  - Antarctic Peninsula

Voyaging overnight along the Gerlache Strait we arrive at the breath-taking Antarctica Peninsula, a land as vast as it is magical. We set out on Zodiacs, kayaks, helicopters or submarine, and venture to penguin rookeries, historic sites and scientific stations, and cruise around majestic icebergs. Discover secluded bays via kayak, plunge below the surface to underwater kingdoms by submarine, and circle above incredible inland vistas in a helicopter. Keep your eyes peeled for leopard seals snacking among the icebergs, and later, step ashore for moments you’ll never forget.

Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, a host of choices are now open and, depending on the ice and weather conditions, the Antarctic Peninsula is yours to explore. Our experienced Discovery Team Leaders, who have made countless journeys to Antarctica, will use their expertise to design your voyage from day to day, making the most of 18–20 hours of daylight.

Discovery: You will partake in daily Discovery excursions. Cruise around ice formations on Zodiacs, step onshore to view vast penguin rookeries and seals, kayak around icebergs listening for the ice cracking and feeding whales blow.

Your expert captain and crew will navigate some of the most beautiful waterways which may include traversing the stunning 11-kilometre-long Lemaire Channel where steep cliffs hem in the iceberg-filled passage just 700 metres wide at its narrowest point. Sail close to blue-tinged icebergs with the chance to visit a working scientific base, where you can discuss life in these harsh conditions with the staff. In late February and March, if conditions are favourable, there may be the opportunity to cross the Antarctic Circle at latitude 66°33’ South.
