Weather and ice conditions will determine daily activities, with potential visits to Qikiqtarjuaq and the spectacular Sam Ford Fjord. Watch for Arctic foxes, polar bears, and a variety of Arctic wildlife.
Days 7–10 – Gateway to Lancaster Sound
Visit Pond Inlet (Mittimatalik), one of the Canadian Arctic’s most scenic communities, before entering Lancaster Sound, a wildlife-rich marine corridor frequented by whales, walruses, seals, and occasionally narwhals and polar bears. Explore by Zodiac and visit remote sites such as Coburg Island, Cape Norton Shaw, Croker Bay, and, conditions permitting, Grise Fjord, Craig Harbour, or Dundas Harbour. Towering glaciers, immense bird colonies, and dramatic Arctic landscapes define this portion of the voyage.
Days 11–13 – Heart of the Northwest Passage
Continue westward into the historic Northwest Passage. Explore Prince Leopold Island, one of the Arctic’s most important seabird sanctuaries, and Fort Ross, a former Hudson’s Bay Company trading post. Conditions permitting, land at Beechey Island, where members of Sir John Franklin’s ill-fated expedition are buried, and visit Radstock Bay to view remarkably preserved Thule archaeological sites that reveal how Indigenous peoples thrived in the High Arctic.
Days 14–15 – Admiralty Inlet and Arctic Bay
Cruise Admiralty Inlet, one of the Arctic’s longest fjords and an important summer habitat for narwhals. Zodiac excursions may provide exceptional opportunities to observe these iconic whales. Visit Arctic Bay, an Inuit community with more than 5,000 years of history, where local residents may share cultural traditions, artwork, and regional cuisine.

Cross Baffin Bay back toward Greenland. Continue searching for whales, seabirds, and polar bears while enjoying onboard presentations, wildlife viewing, and the ship’s amenities.
